The economy continues to be deep in recession, with no sign of relief. But you shouldn't let that get you down, and you certainly shouldn't let it affect your wedding day. As Ruth Lythe reports for The Guardian, there are many ways to have a beautiful wedding dress and still have enough left over to pay the caterer.
While the origins of Kate Middleton's wedding dress are shrouded in mystery, it's unlikely she bought it from a charity shop, Chinese factory outlet or bargain bucket sale.

Yet, according to experts, increasing numbers are spurning the traditional expensive dress. Instead, brides are turning to cut-price alternatives or DIY in the quest for a perfect look for their big day.

While most bridal shoes are made from cloth (usually white satin or silk that can be dyed to match their gowns), there isn’t any rule that says brides have to wear cloth shoes. You can also wear leather, as long as it fits with the look of your gown.
