Always be Prepared.

If you know that your guests have small children, it would be wise to prepare for them just in case. Put together some crayons and some small coloring books or just some pieces of paper to entertain them during your reception.

Glow in the Dark Bubbles

This is a cute idea to use if you're having your wedding reception during the evening hours. In stead of throwing confetti or rice.

Try this, take glow sticks cut them open and then pour them into your bubbles. They'll glow and you'll have an amazingly beautiful effect that will fill the night sky as you look on.

Before I run off for a bit for the holiday's I thought I'd share this picture of a wedding reception that really focused on lighting.

It's a beautiful picture and something you can use to  draw inspiration from for your own wedding.

A Festive Centerpiece

As we're getting close to winter and the holidays are in full swing I thought I'd share this really simple center piece idea. Take a few twigs or sticks and bind them in twine add some ivy and then put a candle in the center.

This is a great idea for a winter wedding, rehearsal dinner, or even just a holiday party you're planning on throwing.

Instead of Throwing Rice.

Use lavender, it won't draw any birds to get sick like rice does. Nor will it be something harmful like confetti. Plus it smells great.

A Beautiful Reception.

This is a stunning reception layout, everything works well together. The lighting, the highlighted sections, the drapes, flowers. It's just wonderful, and as such it's a great picture to pull some ideas from.

This is a stunning picture and incredibly romantic that I just had to share. Hopefully some of you can use this for your own wedding or even part of your holiday decorations being as it's that time of year.

Tent Etiquette

I've heard a few people tell me that they find it difficult using a tent for their ceremony. The difficulty they've found was trying to add decoration to it. And I completely understand that, it can be a majority of the time a living nightmare.

But it doesn't have to be, the trick I've found with tents is if you take a little extra time in finding one that is nice to begin with. My example's the picture to your left, if you start with something like that then it helps a tremendous deal. Also I've stated it before but lighting is important as well!

An Outdoor Idea

If you're going for a Spring or Summer wedding many people tend to hold their ceremonies outside. And why not, the weather is pretty much perfect. So if you're thinking about holding one during the warmer seasons think about going outside.

You can do a variety of different themes and styles. This picture for instance is one of them, it's simplistic, minimal, and yet complex and elegant.

Color Ideas

When it comes to appearance wedding planners or organizers will ask you a series of questions in regards to what you'd like your wedding and the reception to look like (obviously). Some will ask if you have a fell for it and others will ask if you have a favorite color you'd like to use. So it's best to have some sort of idea of what you'd like your wedding to look like before meeting up with an organizer.

This isn't a problem for some, but most of us have trouble thinking of something that's big. So my suggestion is to focus on some colors you like and work from there. It's a small step but it helps in the long run. Think about the season you're planning on having your wedding and the colors that fit.

It can be a daunting task but if you take small steps and focus on one task at a time. It will be much more manageable.

Wedding Aisle Runner

This is a great idea to have, I know it's not written in English but it doesn't matter. You can just let your imagination run here. You and your soon to be could write down lyrics to a song, a poem, a timeline of the relationship, have the parents or the wedding party write something  or if you want have something drawn. The idea is cute, and personable.

Simple Flower Arrangements

The saying less is more, is genuinely true. Especially when it comes to flowers, take this picture for instance. White Hydrangea's are a great example of saying, they're a beautiful and simple flower but they add a great effect.

Table Ideas

When you're holding an outdoor reception you may want to look into your surroundings for ideas on how to decorate. Take for instance this picture, the tables fit in just nicely with the surroundings. They're simplistic and they even have lights at the bottom to add a glow effect.

It's a little early I know but honestly those of you who are planning on having a spring wedding may want to actually get started on the nitty gritty of planning. If you're trying to figure out a flower arrangement or centerpiece layout. Look into flowers like green mist lace, they're a great addition to most arrangements.

Tents are great, they're perfect when you find a outdoor location that has an amazing setting around it and they offer a ton of customization to them when you're planning a theme and decoration.

This is a pretty neat way for marking your tables at the reception and adding a bit of added personality to the night.

In Adding Color But not Overpower.

If you're wanting to add some color to your wedding but not sure how to go about it without making it pop out or just make it subtle try using a faded softer version of the color you're interested in using. Like this picture here to the side.

Small,Simple, Elegant.

This is a great idea for those of you who want to add something a bit more to your center pieces without going over budget. Or for those who wish to have something of a low key yet elegant look to your wedding. Take a mason jar, wrap sheet music around it and when you light it, you'll see that it gives off a glowing effect.

Winter Front and Center

When you're doing a Winter wedding, it's best if you embrace the season around you. You don't have to have an entire theme but just working it in subtly can add a very nice touch to the experience.

I'm a fan of this one, it's simple yet elegant and even though it's bare I think that the lighting of the candles make up for the lack of flowers.

A Non-Traditional Location.

I absolutely love this picture, I love that they're using a covered bridge. It's simplistic, rustic and intimate. Plus the location is amazing for pretty much any season with the possible exception of Winter.

The Backdrop

A backdrop is a great way to add focus or ambiance to your wedding reception. It's something that you can put just about anywhere in the room. Most people like to have a natural backdrop by having either the bride and groom seated by a window with a view. But if you're in a hall that might not be an option, so there's several ideas to implement.  Either something elegant like hanging glass orbs from string. Or using a projector and having something written in good font.

Have a Little Fun with your Cake.

I love it when people go for something a bit different with their weddings, from the location, to the theme or even the cake. It adds something of a personality to the whole event and in this case it's incredibly cute.

A Little Can Do a Lot

When you find the perfect location for your wedding, most of the time you don't need more then just a few chairs and maybe a small plattform for the ceremony. This photo is a prime example of that.

A Well Put Together Reception.

I don't really have much to add to this other then how well it looks. A simple touches with the lighting and the fabric over head along with keeping the chairs and exposed tables matching the room color. It's a great look for what appears to be set in a mountain like space.

Adding Light.

These light columns are beautiful and incredibly easy to do. All you need to do is hang a hula hoop, and run icicle lights and gossamer down the length then tie it off. Pretty simple and it adds a very nice effect to your wedding.

A Beautiful Center Piece.

I'm a fan of this, it has a really nice effect and can be used with pretty much any color your wedding theme is set at. The added bonus is that you can get all the things you need for this relatively cheep. The vases you can find at a dollar store same for the rocks.

Making a Lot with a Little.

There's great ways of pulling a very plain space and turning it into something more. This photo is a great example of how that's done by simply adding a little to the aisle's it draws focus and brings a bit of added color.
